Chinese automaker Zeekr, a subsidiary of Geely, continues to push the boundaries of electric mobility. Recently, they unveiled the 2025 Zeekr 007 model, featuring the second-generation revolutionary Golden Battery. This battery is setting a new standard for charging speed among mass-produced electric vehicles, making it a game-changer not only for users but for the entire EV industry.
Faster Charging Than Ever Before
The new Golden Battery can charge the Zeekr 007 from 10% to 80% in an astonishing 10.5 minutes. This speed is made possible by lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology, allowing for charging at a rate of up to 5.5 C. With this pace, you can add up to 610 km of range in just 15 minutes of charging, a significant leap forward compared to previous battery generations.
Efficient Charging in Extreme Conditions
Zeekr has also ensured that their new batteries perform reliably under demanding conditions. Thanks to an enhanced Battery Management System (BMS), the EV can be charged even at temperatures as low as -10°C, with a charging time from 10% to 80% of about 30 minutes. This is crucial for users in regions with extreme winter conditions.
Wider Adoption and Availability
The Golden Battery isn't exclusive to the Zeekr 007. The company plans to deploy it in other vehicles within the Geely group, including brands like Polestar, Volvo, and even Lotus. This battery is not only faster but also cheaper to produce due to localized manufacturing in China, contributing to its widespread availability in global markets.
Advanced Technology in the New Zeekr 007
In addition to the revolutionary battery, the 2025 Zeekr 007 offers improvements in autonomous driving and driver assistance. The Haohan 2.0 system, equipped with lidar and over 30 sensors, ensures safe navigation through up to 30 different types of intersections with a success rate of over 95%. All of this is powered by dual Nvidia Orin X chips, providing the vehicle with over 508 TOPS of computing power.
