The automotive world is abuzz with the arrival of the 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1, a vehicle that promises to redefine the electric truck segment. General Motors announced that this highly anticipated model is now being delivered to customers, showcasing a blend of luxury and cutting-edge technology.
A New Benchmark in Electric Trucks
The Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 stands out with its impressive specifications. Priced at $99,495 including a $1,995 destination fee, this limited-edition launch model boasts a remarkable 440-mile EPA range. This is about 10% more than initially expected when the model was first previewed.
Luxury and Performance Combined
Wearing the prestigious Denali badge, the Edition 1 includes features like adaptive air suspension, rear-wheel steering, and the unique CrabWalk feature from the GMC Hummer EV. These elements set it apart from its sibling, the Chevrolet Silverado EV RST. The truck is powered by a dual-motor system producing up to 754 hp and 785 lb-ft of torque, enabling a swift 0-60 mph acceleration in just 4.5 seconds. It also boasts a maximum towing capacity of 10,000 lbs.
Innovative Features
The Sierra EV is designed with practicality in mind. It includes a midgate pass-through that allows for transporting items up to 11 feet long and features a front trunk for additional storage. The dual-layer battery pack, expected to be around 205 kWh, supports 350-kw, 800-volt charging connectors, enabling up to 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes.
Advanced Technology
On the tech front, the Sierra EV doesn't disappoint. It rides on massive 24-inch wheels and includes a spacious 16.8-inch infotainment touchscreen. The truck also offers GM's Super Cruise highway driving-assistance system, which can be used while towing a trailer. By the end of 2025, GM expects this system to be compatible with 750,000 miles of roads in the U.S. and Canada.
With its blend of luxury, performance, and innovative features, the 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 sets a new standard for what an electric truck can be.
